Nollywood Actor, Yomi Fabiyi and the Leadership of the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) stormed the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) of the Lagos State Police Command, Panti , yesterday,14th May, 2021 to demand for the release of Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha.
It will be recalled that Nollywood actor , Yomi Fabiyi , four days ago led a group of protesters to the SCIID Panti to demand the release of the actor , whereupon the Commissioner of Police stated that the Police won't release Baba Ijesha until the ongoing nationwide indefinite strike action of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria is called off for him to be arraigned in Court.
In a related development, the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) had earlier written to the Commissioner of Police to demand bail for Baba Ijesha as the ground of the JUSUN strike is not tenable for denying him bail.
However, it was yesterday that the duo of Adesina Ogunlana and Ayo Ademiluyi, Chairman and Secretary of RAMINBA respectively was able to meet Baba Ijesha in person after the discussion with the DCP Adegoke , Head of SCIID Panti yielded positive fruit to the effect that an application for the bail of Baba Ijesha should be brought to the Police.
Consequently, a bail application was drawn up and addressed to the Commissioner of Police and copied to the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
As matters stands now, the application for bail of Baba Ijesha is being considered.
